Criteria for choosing a QUALIFIED Schutzhund trainer or coach:

  • Who did your training helper learn from to perfect his skill base (not a TRIAL helper - there is a BIG difference - don't confuse a trainer with a "trial routine technician")?

  • How many dog-handler teams has he helped attain success - in all 3 phases?

  • Can he present trial preparation information to you in an understandable way?

  • Has he successfully trained MANY dogs from puppies AND succeeded with some of the best imported Schutzhund dogs in the World? Diversity id the key to YOUR success.

  • Is he a "hands on" trainer or simply a " theorist" that has never successfully trained or assisted other handlers in attaining titles AND National & International prominence?

  • Does he have experience with MANY different types of performance/show dogs to have garnered an understanding of all temperaments and the proper training methods associated with all dogs (soft, hard, nervous, "high threshold", "low threshold", etc.)?

  • Is he a THREE PHASE trainer? Many are protection only "theorists" that will leave you stranded trying to succeed in tracking and obedience.

If your helper, coach or "training director" doesn't meet ALL of the above
criteria, then you and your dog will not sustain your desired results.

The Siegerhof staff have worked thousands of dogs and have the experience,  talent AND dedication to excel in this
highly competitive dog sport.
